MODULE 2: SEACAP mitigation pillar

16 September 2024

introduction

This module covers the mitigation pillar of the SEACAP. It looks at measures that cities can develop to help set mitigation targets and actions. This is important to help cities reduce and monitor emissions from the various sectors within their jurisdiction.

The module expands on the important steps in the SEACAP development process (initiation, planning, implementation, and monitoring and reporting phases). The module also covers developing a Baseline Emissions Inventory (BEI), the use of the proxy data tool, introduction to the City Inventory Reporting and Information System (CIRIS), setting a mitigation vision and sectoral targets, and setting mitigation actions.
