An adaptation vision is a long-term vision which indicates the direction that the city wishes to follow in terms of adaptation.
Setting a longer-term vision is considered a key success factor of SEACAPs as it clearly shows the local authority’s political commitment. It also gives a strong message to citizens and stakeholders on how the local authority wants to develop in the future, paving the way for more substantial investment in sustainable infrastructure.
What does an adaptation vision look like?
Here’s an example of an adaptation vision:
“By 2030, the city will have built up its adaptive capacity to such a point that it can effectively respond to both current and anticipated future climate hazards to ensure uninterrupted service delivery for its citizens.”
